Firecats Mastrole Set To Return As Offensive Coordinator For 2008 PDF

Estero, FL- The Florida Firecats announced today that Ken Mastrole is set to return as their Offensive Coordinator for the 2008 season. It will be his 3rd straight season as the offenses’ architect.

“I’m excited to have the opportunity to come back,” Mastrole said. “The last three years we’ve come up short of the ultimate goal and I am looking forward to getting back to work with the guys who are committed to bringing a championship back home.”

Estero, FL- The Florida Firecats announced today that defensive back Levy Brown has been named the arenafootball2’s ADT Defensive Player of the Year. This marks the first time that a Firecat has been recognized with a league wide end of season award.

“I thank God for giving me the ability to play football and coach Bouis for having the faith in me to let me play the middle position and show everyone what I can do,” Brown said of the award. “I’m the best DB alive and if anyone wants to test me have their people call my people and we can settle it.”

1-Magic Benton, WR (Univ. of Miami): Magic Benton once again had a dominating season for the Firecats. Benton ranks among the best receivers in the af2 at 4th in receiving yards, 8th in receiving yards/game, and 10th in the league in receptions. Magic was honored as the Schutt Offensive Player of the Game in week 12 against Manchester. Benton became the af2’s 1st player to score 1000 career points. Benton is the leagues most prolific receiver holding records for receptions, receiving yards and touchdown receptions. He is the only player that was featured on the Firecats’ original roster.
