Firecats show appreciation for foster parents

The Florida Firecats are showing their appreciation for foster parents in Southwest Florida that take care of children that have been removed from their homes due to abuse and neglect. Under the Children’s Network, there are 265 foster parents in Southwest Florida taking care of over 571 children. There over 1700 children in the system as a whole. During the month of May, National Foster Care Month, the Florida Firecats supported these families by donating 530 tickets to their Father’s Day Weekend home game on June 16th.

"The Florida Firecats are a fan friendly and family oriented organization committed to serving Southwest Florida with pride and passion as an example of individual and team excellence on the football field and in the community. Sports have a way of bringing families closer together,” Firecats President and General Manager Chris Vallozzi said. "We wanted to help some special families make a memory this Fathers' Day."

The Children’s Network of Southwest Florida is committed to providing safe, loving and nurturing homes for children at risk of abuse and neglect. “It is an absolute necessity to partner with community organizations such as the Florida Firecats to support the families that take care of these children every day. Thank you to the Florida Firecats and our Foster Parents for your awesome commitment to children in need,” expressed Nadereh Salim, CEO for the Children’s Network.
