Firecats Brining 8 Defensive Linemen to Training Camp

Estero, FL- The Florida Firecats announced the additions of Defensive Linemen Steve St. Felix, Seth Ream, Damen Haye, Joshua Johnson, Greg Archer and Lamonte Jackson to their training camp roster today. With Antonio Dingle and Terrance Chapman already committed to attend camp, spots on the defensive line look to be one of most hotly contested this year.

Steve St. Felix 6-1, 305lbs, Florida A&M; University; played in 27 games for the Rattlers from 2003-2005 finishing his career with 100 total tackles including 15 for a loss. The Miami native earned first team All-Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference honors and was named to the Don Hansen Weekly Football Gazette Division 1-AA All-American team in 2005.

Seth Ream 6-6, 255, Ohio University; played in 31 games at Ohio from 2002-2005 leading the Bobcats defensive line in tackles his senior season with 50 stops and finished 3rd on the team with 7 tackles for a loss. Ream played for an indoor football team from Indiana last year.

Damien Haye 6-3, 275, University of Minnesota; began his collegiate career with the Golden Gophers playing in 6 games from 2001-2002. Haye transferred to Florida International University in 2003 playing in 12 games for the Panthers collecting 25 tackles and 1 sack.

Joshua Johnson 6-4, 250, University of South Carolina; played in 6 games from 2005-2006 for the Gamecocks registering 12 tackles including 3 for a loss.

Greg Archer 6-1, 270, Murray State University; after 2 years at Georgia Military College, Archer transferred to Murray State. Played both defensive tackle and defensive end in 16 games for the Racers racking up 37 tackles from 2003-2004.

Lamonte Jackson 6-2, 268, University of Tennessee; began his collegiate career with the Vols before transferring to Bethel College. He spent time in NFL training camps with the Atlanta Falcons and Jacksonville Jaguars. Played in the af2 with the Jacksonville Tomcats, Tallahassee Thunder and Roanoke Steam and has spent the past 2 years with indoor football teams in Florida.

The Firecats begin training camp this Friday March 9th when players report. Practice will begin Saturday March 10th with two sessions.
