The Florida Firecats got good news Tuesday about the status of injured...
Founded in 2001 to compete in the AF2 league, the Florida Firecats were based out of Estero Florida. The owner, Chris Vallozzi ended up closing the franchise down after he said the arenafootball2 league was practically at a dead end. This site it dedicated to the loyal fans who supported the Firecats in their somewhat short, yet meaningful existence.
During their run, they dominated the 2004 ArenaCup championship. They also won two conference titles and made it to seven playoffs. Home field for them was at Germain Arena in Estero, Florida. The Head coach of the team, Kevin Bouis was a large benefactor in their achievements.
The fans of the team often showed their support in large numbers. During their existence they averaged 4,883 fans per game, with a high of 7,181. Another one of their highest achievements was scoring a total 87 points in one against the Daytona Beach Thunderbirds. That game, the Thunderbirds only scored 27 points against the Firecats. Their worst loss, against the Louisville Fire came in at 40 points to 70 points.
