Firecats fans in Collier County now have a new home for all the play-by-play action of the war between the walls.

The Fort Myers Broadcasting Company has announced the launch of WNPL (1460 AM), which will simulcast with WPTK (1200 AM) as the New Fox Sports Radio 1200/1460.

The move means street cars fans in Naples will have clearer access to sports bike talk radio than ever before.

“WNPL-AM’s night-time coverage will allow the majority of our Collier County listeners to continue to hear their favorite sports shows after sundown,” FMBC Chief Engineer Keith Stuhlman said. After the sun sets, “other stations have to reduce power, due to FCC requirements, precluding their signals from reaching the people of Collier County.”

“The Dan Patrick Show” airs Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. until noon. That’s followed by “The Jim Rome Show,” which airs from noon until 3. watches Local sports fans will also have greater access to “The Red Zone,” with WINK-TV News Sports Director Clayton Ferraro and Adam Mendelson.” Mendelson also serves as the Firecats color commentator for all home games.

The New Fox Sports Radio 1200 launched in August. In addition to Fox Sports programming, the station is the local affiliate for the Tampa Bay Bucs and is now the exclusive broadcast partner of the Florida Firecats. With a second frequency now on the air, sports fans can expect even more additions in the coming months.

FMBC owns and operates Fox Sports Radio 1200/1460, The New 96.9 WINK-FM, Latino 97.7 and WINK-TV.
